Art and his award.
Chief executive officer of the Miami Parking Authority, Arthur “Art” Noriega, was recently presented with the Latin Builders Association’s (LBA) Public Administrator of the Year Award. The award recognizes senior public administrators who best exemplify the qualities of innovation, a commitment to excellence and a dedication to community involvement.

“I am honored and humbled to accept this fine recognition,” said Noriega, who was presented the award at the annual awards ceremony held in Miami in September. “I am grateful to the LBA for this distinction, to my mentors and colleagues who have helped enhance my career throughout the years, and to the talented staff with whom I work every day.”

With more than 19 years of parking industry experience, Noriega has a strong background in construction, operations and urban development projects. As CEO of MPA since 1999, he oversees all of the parking and enforcement operations in a major metropolitan city.

An Economics graduate of the University of South Florida, with professional certifications from Tulane and Northwestern University, Mr. Noriega is a dedicated community leader and volunteer. Mr. Noriega serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the South Florida Progress Foundation.  He is a member of the Board of the Downtown Miami Partnership, the Miami Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Council for Educational Change and Mr. Noriega is a graduate of Leadership Florida’s 26th Class and currently serves as Chairman of the Miami Beach Bowl.

“This award honors public administrators who exemplify abilities to lead, innovate and inspire in a significant manner,” said Alex Lastra, president of the Latin Builders Association.  “Art Noriega is a committed public servant and we were pleased to recognize him with the Public Administrator of the Year award.”
