MPA's Holiday Parking Courtesy Program returns

Miami Parking Authority (MPA) once again gets in the holiday spirit with the return of its popular “Holiday Parking Courtesy Citation Program” to give back to the community by helping customers avoid getting parking citations.

Created over a decade ago, the program will be in effect every day, 24 hours a day, from December 15, 2017 at 12:01 am through January 1, 2018 at 11:59 pm.

The program applies to all on-street parking spaces managed by MPA. All customers who purchase parking at a single-space meter, Pay by Plate master meter, or via the Pay-by-Phone app, will be eligible. Once their parking session has expired, they will receive a special Holiday Courtesy Citation explaining that they have been granted up to one free hour of parking beyond their expiration time.

NOTE: This does not apply to private lots where they are booting cars. MPA does not control those lots.

“The Miami Parking Authority Holiday Parking Courtesy Citation Program is one of the many ways our organization supports the local community.  This program reflects our appreciation for the support that we receive throughout the year from our customers, while, simultaneously, helping the local business community by making the parking experience easier for their patrons,” said Alejandra Argudin, Chief Operations Officer of MPA.

Notably, customers who live within the boundaries of the city of Miami and are registered with the Customer Service department receive a 20 percent discount when they park and use PaybyPhone. In addition, customers who park in Miami do not incur a .35 convenience fee when they use PayByPhone. Three years ago, MPA became the only parking agency in Florida to absorb the mobile payment technology convenience fee.
